What are you guys using? I see 3M doesn't make the blue vinyl in 1/16".

Tape is green - not blue. Used only for the tightest of turns. Not very adhesive, so you have to lay it on carefully.

It's 3M 233+. I use it all the time and it's about the best thing around for the price. I pay less than $2 per roll. TC

I just got some orange stuff, not sure of the brand. The guy at the store said it was better then the 3m. I was having a bleeding problem with the 3m. I hope this new stuff cures the problem. If you want the name Ill get it for you.

The 233+ is masking tape,not fineline.3M offers only the blue garbage and the original green which is decent but that's it, and the future looks bleak,they don't consider it a market that's worth investing the R&D into.There's a few other brands like Norton(can't remember the performance now) and others like American and..... that are much better.Seems the Euro's have a good grasp on fineline and make some nice stuff and you can even get it in colors for a contrast on your masking.

The contrasting colors is a great idea especially when you use roll mask over the entire piece. Would let you see tape outs for multicolor flame jobs.

No,sorry man.The only 2 I can remember is Norton and American.Bornhard found some new stuff he likes but I can't remember the name,hopefully someone else will jump in and help out.There is another name floating around in my head but I can't think of it now.

Yeah the proband was the stuff I found when I did a Google search too but I don't see any multicolor stuff. It looks like the only 1/16" is orange unless I'm just overlooking something.

everyone swears by the proband. I purchased some in December for some flames within flames. I have had an adhesion problem with it for some reasons. All my workable surfaces are very clean too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bounce.gif
