1/16 " tape

I am wondering if there is a 1/16 " plastic(Bendable) tape. I use the pinstriping method that Scott F. talks about, where you paint the background or pinstripe color then tape over that and finish the paint job. I'vd been using the 1/8" 3m "Blue" tape. The same stuff I use for taping the flames off. I am tring to get a finer line and since I'm new to this whole thing and my pin striping ability rivals a 2 year old. I’m looking for any other way possible. Any help would be great.

The kits are expensive, and my experience using of one of these tools was limited to playing with it for a couple of minutes at a car show, but I was impressed enough that I do plan on buying one next time I do some pin striping.

Pretty much anyone that makes the 1/8 makes 1/16 along with other sizes and can be had at the supply store. You don't have to buy the blue though because the 1/16 bends very easily.

I use 3M 1/16 inch tape that is a drab tan color. Don't have the part number off hand. It's plastic, and works quite well. I've found that you shouldn't try to stretch it too much because the stuff will pop up on you...usually about the time you start squirting paint on it. I press the dickens out of it as I apply it, and don't pull it real tight. Haven't had a problem with it since I figured that part out.

Works for me, your mileage may vary.
