I am getting ready to paint my sport bike and have a bunch of questions. First off, what kind of paint does everyone suggest. I have been painting helmets with Createx Auto Air, but don't really like the way it looks. Secondly, after i sand down and am ready to paint do i need to prime the plastic parts? The last question for now, how much paint does it usually take to do an entire sport bike? I will be using black as a base color, then adding flames, pinstripes, and possibly painting the rims(depending on how the rest goes). Thanks for all the help!!

I use R-M Diamont and i think its the best. If You want a real nice paint job i would use the R-M Diamont or Glasurit I would use a plastic adhesion promoter and a flex agent on plastics. Id be happy to tell you more about this paint if you want to try it

How does this paint compare with the other brands? Does it have a similar price? Where can you order it, do they have a company web site?
thanks

RM is good but HOK works really well also and is easy to work with. It works really well with newbies because mixing is pretty basic, less room for error. You said you wanted a black base HOK has a primer/sealer that is black. this will help hide your coat of black base very well. Also UFC-35 is a pretty soft clear. Ive never had to use a flex agent in my clear and have never had any problems. I can twist it bend it and its all good! If your using bodywork that has paint on it already there is no need for a plastic promotor. When painting its good to think about a long lasting paint job but cost also should come to mind. The more you add the more your cost. Just a thought. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
