Like the title said, I've been a woodworker/carpenter most of my life. I've always had an interest in painting, auto-body, welding, etc. But just never had the time to pursue both areas, and since carpentry is how I pay the bills this is where my time goes. Recently though I've become more and more interested in painting so I figured why not dive right in and try it out. I'm not an auto-body guy and at this point I have no interest in painting cars or motorcycles. What I'm interested in is antique appliance restoration. A neighbor of mine was throwing out his old Philco refrigerator. I thought it looked cool and it still worked so I gave him $10 bucks for it and put in my shop to keep six packs of beer, I mean soda, in it. lol So about a year later I get to doing a little research online one night and i find this exact same fridge on some antique auction website that had just sold for $8000! And mine is actually in better shape, minus the paint job. A dimly lit light bulb goes off in my head and I see a way to make some money on the side doing something I think I would really enjoy. I've always had an interest in working with reclaime/recycled wood as a woodworker, so I guess it's natural that I'm interested in the old vintage appliances as well. Anyways, thanks for reading and hopefully I'll meet a few of you and learn a few tricks of the trade in my new venture. Laters!
