A good living?

I had a question for anyone that does automotive painting as more than a hobby. Can one make a decent living at this? I've been working as a t-shirt aribrush artist for the last 6-7 months and have just now started getting into the custom automotive aspect of painting and I feel that with some practice and determination I can get good at it. I realize that there are factors that will affect the amount of money one makes (quality of work, advertising, location) but how well does this work for you guys? I have no illusions at getting rich doing this, but is it a way that one can make a decent living with. I've just always heard that its great to be able to do something you love and get paid for it and I feel that this is something I can really enjoy doing. Thanks for any info.

Hi

I started painting bikes after spending a while airbrushing leather jackets. After a couple of jobs had gone out of the door I found that a fairly steady stream of work started to come in. The income from the painting is now getting to the point where its going to overtake the income from my bike parts business......which is great as its much more enjoyable painting.

There is money to be made but like you said there are factors affecting it.The easiest way to find out is do some on the side and let the work and word get out,if the work starts to increase you can start a side buisness until it replaces or interferes with your present job.Good luck man.
