As Taz mentioned a variable speed buffer is quite important. Especially if your chasing that show winning shine. There are many types out there. The six inch buffer can get heavy and be a little awkward. Especially gettting into those tight spots. Such as around aerials, hood ornaments, brackets etc. Yep they can be a pain sometimes. Use one all day long, and you'll have pipes on ya like popeye. Well heres what I use for just those spots. A little 3 inch buffer by Dynabrade. It works great for door jams, and getting in to those little tight areas. Nothing like having a big buffer grab hold of a bracket or some other protruding annoyance, and fling itself across your paint job. That again will spoil your day, your week to. Think I've mentioned this before. Seems like there's lots of stuff to spoil your day in this industry. As you can see it's a right angle unit thats very light and also very low in air comsumption. I would not want to be with out it. Sure makes life so much easier. It's also variable speed to.
