i was browsing the acp jobs, and was blown away by #235. i'm trying to get into painting a bit, and was wondering if anyone knew how they did it.

Actually, it's not that hard, just the effect is neat. The base is a black with blue marbleizer. Then the flames are airbrushed on using a "silver pearl" type paint. I have another one coming up in the next week or two that will have the marbleized effect...just no flames.

marbleizing has been around quite a while. Some people refer to it as "bowling ball" paint.

oh, okay. so it's an actual type of paint then, rather than a process?

yeah, it's a rockin' effect. it's something that i don't often see either. very unique.

in doing some more reading about marbelizing, i had another question for ya scott.

what did you use to marbelize it? i've read that some people use plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or a grocery bag. that almost looks like you used a paint brush to acheive that.

what other objects have you heard of people using for marbeling?
