i'm painting an old motorbike tank, pre 1930s. well it went fine the first time. i mixed my custom ratio of 4:1 (acr.enam:flateningagent) and reduced and hardend as said. the first time i did it, it came out fine. i striped it, didn't like it so sanded it down and got it ready to shoot again. well it had a bounch of dirt specks in it, so i thought? so i sanded it down again and shot it again.....what the heck, i've never had this much problem w/ dirt!!!! i looked in my cup and the specs were all over the place in there. still being naieve to the situation. i give it one more shot... i think the cold weather got to my paint, b/c it's making the chunks and spitting them on the surface. i don't know if it's in the hardner or the paint. i've never had a problem w/ cold weather before, but i think it is reacting to the laquer thinner that i use to clean up my gun w/.
has anyone had this problem before? i don't want to have to buy more hardner (expensive crap!) has anyone heard of this before? could it happen if i added too much hardner?
