Acrylic lacquers

Hi guys

I'm moving to a new workshop and there is a firm that supplies acrylic lacquer paint systems two doors down. I know this is an older style system compared to 2 pak urethanes and not as robust but I use autoair for my base and graphics and I'm thinking of using this as the clear. Anything I should look out for when using the system. Also I have been told its nowhere near as hazardous to the health as the urethanes any truth in this !

It still isn't good to breathe but it is way less hazzardous. It isn't nearly as durable as urethanes but it makes a beautiful finish.Maintanance is high too,it's soft so you have to be easy washing dirt off and keep a good coat of wax on it all the time.Down here in hot Florida I always waited 90 days to wax it but we have to mix in retarder so it wouldn't dry so quick.Never use straight retarder too,it takes forever to evaporate out,if you need it always mix it with slow thinner.I'm not sure what brands you have there but DuPont sucks. The best years ago was RM (which I believe is still under the Diamont name now) and PPG was the next best.House of Kolor makes laquer too but never used it.I would say it's good stuff though.
