acrylic laquer

Hi everyone,

Newbie here! I want to paint my antique pickup with an acrylic laguer paint, but I've been told I can't paint over a urethane primer. Is this true, and if so, what would happen if I did?

Lifting I would think. Why would you. Its kind of like oil and water.
I didn't know we could still get lacquer.
I have only tried spraying urethane over old lacquer. It was a mistake. I had to strip everything.
Check out the painting tips section there is a guy there that has started a thread about different kinds of paints. His name is Gears-N-Grease or something. PM him he may be able to guide you.
