Adding Flames to old paint?

Hi,
I have a tank that was sprayed about a year ago with ppg b/c.
Can a clearcoat be wet sanded thats been on that long and have a ghost flame added to it and be recleared with the same type of clear safely? If so what grit paper should I use? And would createx be safe or should I also use ppg paint for the flames also?

Pete,
Yes you can work with your current paint job. Prep the current paint using something like 1000 grit wet, layout and spray your flames, then apply the clear of your choice.

I've got two new custom fenders coming in that have to be painted anyhow so I guess this would be the time to add a flame job.
