Adding to ghost flames...is it possible?

Recently had my bike painted black with silver pearl ghost flames. Although the quality is great, the ghost flames are very hard to see even in direct sunlight. It seems as though my paint differs somehow from the test panel he produced. My painter offered to repaint the bike completely or add additional flames (which I thought was very gracious), but that scuffing and trying to mask off the original pearl paint would essentially be impossible. Is there an alternative to a total repaint in which the original flame can be made more pronounced? I can offer more info if anyone needs it.

Re: left side

That's the tough thing about "ghost" flames, everybody has thier own idea of how they should look. The lighter you want em,the tougher they are to perfectly reproduce.Your best bet is to scuff it down, retape around the outer edge and give em another coat.

What about just adding another flame job totally different than the first. This way, IF you do get perfect lighting for the first flame job, then it would show up as two flame jobs?
OR, just spray a couple coats of black base to 'kill' the first flame job, then do the new flames.
