Hello, what type of gun are the air pressure recommendations made for on the hok tech sheets? What pressure would be good for shrimin metallic bases and interclear with a hvlp gun........thanks

Those values listed in the HOK tech sheets work good for my DeVilbiss GTi, but I don't think you can apply them to all guns. I know that if you have a Iwata LPH-400, you better cut the pressures at the gun almost in half. So I would recommend calling HOK with questions about your specific gun before you shoot, or do like most and shoot a test panel to see how the coverage is at the recommended pressures. Good luck.

Usually the sheet will tell you for hvlp or not.I read somewhere the specs were for a Sata (don't recall the model) with a 1.5 tip.I remember because it hit me as hosing it on with that tip and a 3/4 overlap.Anytime you change paint you have to tweak the gun but I find if I play with an hvlp it takes a little more playing.Usually whatever you're setup for what you're using now will be good or close to what you need for HOK.I played with some of their pbc and sprayed it as I would the PPG base and it covered and laid down beautiful without changing my base setup.Actually I think it went on a little thinner per coat compared to PPG and performed better.

Thanks for the info.. this gun and hvlp is new to me, it has a 1.4 tip and just from the little I've tried it, it puts out a lot more paint then I'm used to. I've had a sharp model 75 suction gun for years.......I'm going to keep experimenting before I do a paint job with it.

As long as you think it's hosing it keep choking down the fluid and play with the pressure while keeping a patern, she'll dial in.If the 75 is the 'S' head I had a BC/CC model years ago and it was way ahead of it's time,I wish I still had it for grafix on the larger side.
