First of all I'm new to the site. I own and operate a
Industrial and commericial painting company in Alaska. This painting with motorcycles is a whole new ball game with me. I just recently sanded down my 2001 FZ1 and added clear with a touch of pearl. The job really turned out great but as I stumbled across this site I see that in his how to section there are a couple of tools and products that I am not familar with and was hoping somebody could help me out.
I have an makita electronic polisher and wool cutting pad. been using the 3M Finesse, but I see that he uses a Mequires foam pad, black waffle pad, and foam ploishing glaze.
Can somebody give me some part numbers and where to order these from please.

I have the Makita black foamwaffle looking pad I guess?
Thanks for the help,

Keith

Welcome aboard.I can't give you part #s but it's really not important. For the buffing pads 3M,McGuires,Shlaegel all make great pads,it's just a matter of personal preference.Just make sure you get the one for compound and the one for polish and keep them seperate.I still use a wool pad sometimes if I cut it down with 1500 just to knock out the scratches quick before I go to foam pads. There has to be a paint supply somewhere near you to supply the body industry so they'll have or can get what you need. The Finesse is good stuff but I was forced to change to the Perfect-it line for a while and stayed with it,it's a 6 and one 1/2 dozen deal between the 2.

I live on an Island in Southeast Alaska, We have 15 miles of paved road. We have a NAPA store but it doesnt carry very much, talked to the local dent fixim places and they order out of state to get the right tools but were unwilling to tell me where.
If there was a place on-line where I could get the foam, and pads that wold be great!

Thanks for all the help.
