Am I going to die?

I recently painted my Volkswagen using PPG's Omni line of paints. The paint dealer recommended the 3M mask to paint with. It's a standard respirator with Two filters on either side, trapezoid in shape. I just read on a website selling these types of respirators and it said, "This, like any other cartridge respirator, will not protect you from isocyanates." Well I checked the hardener and sure enough isocyanates are present. Should I go back to the paint dealer and give him a piece of my mind, or will I be okay? For the next project, I'll be using acrylic laquer. Is that type of respirator okay for that type of paint? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kyle

Not anytime soon most likely. It is true they don't stop iso's but unless you're one of the few allergic to it you'll live.I've been painting for many years with those masks along with many others.Eventually you will have a reaction but it takes a long time. The lacquer is just like the basecoat or any non hardened leadfree paint,no probs with that mask. The supplied air systems are the only way to go with catalized products but they're way expensive for the hobby level.
