I am using a dark metalic blue b/c. I am looking for a suttle but evident flame appearance.
Should I addd a little black/pearl to the same paint I used for the base, I have some dark green to use in place of the black If I can get the pearl tinted what color tint should I opick up?
can some one point me in the direction of an inexpensive clear?

Thanks Bo

If you lightly airbrushed some silver along the taped out flame edge, that would look nice. Or maybe get your jobber to mix up a half pint of a lighter metallic blue for the flames?
I use PPG's Omni 161 clear a good bit, it's inexpensive, flow out nice, buffs out great.
A friend of mine has had Omni clear on his truck for over 5 years and it still looks like new.
Also I hear Transtar makes a good inexpensive clear.
Do you have a Keystone Automotive store in your town? They have their own line of clears and primers that I've heard are inexpensive, I've never used it though.
