Any clearcoats that work on plastic & paint as well

okay thanks so if i got a clear coat from canadian tire , i could paint my plastic mirrors which have painted stripes on them and the cc would stick to the plastic and paint equally well?

I'm not for sure what Canadian Tire is.
But if you prep the mirrors, and spray some adhesion promoter on the mirrors, then the clear should stick to the plastic.
I assume whoever did the 'painted' stripes on the mirrors did it correctly?! If not, then the stripes and the clear will peel off.

I would not use cantire stuff.it is cheap clear laquer.cyas

well actually i did the stripes myself, i used high heat vht primer, and then yellow caliper paint also from vht. this should be fine right? and then what do i put over it to make it stick??
