Where in OH are you at?
What type of bars are you looking for?
There are some decent ones around me that are quiet, laid back places that you don't get funny looks when you pull up on two wheel and wearing leather. Then you got the rowdy biker bars, club type bars, and bars to go see a band play.
I'm in Athens but willing to travel. Plans for weekend rides are what we are looking for. Laid back, rowdy, we don't care. Favorite places things like that. Where if you're riding that way you stop in and have a few. Make sense? No dance clubs though. Have enough of those around here. Favorite whole in the wall I guess.
My niece is going to Ohio University down there. From what I hear they get pretty wild around there.
There are a few in Cleveland. Not as many as you would think for the size of the city. I'll check with some of my riding buddies and get some names for you. I usually just go for the band that's playing or when my wife drags me out to karaoke.
There is a pretty good bar Here where I live in Loudonville. I'd say maybe 3 hrs north of Athens. Bikers frequent it on saturdays and sundays if it is a nice riding day
Keep em coming. Lot's of Ohio to see this summer before it get's cold. Take a sunday and ride down this way. You should definately check out Jimbo's and Smiling Skull. There's two you don't want to miss.
Rico- directions (round about or what road it's on) and the name of the bar. We will definately check it out
Here's a couple I have been to.
Ice House Tavern & Grill. Nice looking barmaids, Nice little hangout.
If you go down Broadview rd. in Cleveland you will pass by a handlfull of decent spots. Wedge Inn, Raging Bull, Greenleaf, Casablanca, Last Chance Saloon.
There's always bikes sitting outside them. Let me know if your coming up this way and I can show you around a bit.
Lived in WestSide of Cleveland for awhile. Hit the FLATS downtown. Plenty of action down there. For a neighborhood bar I use to frequent BUGS MORANS in Lakewood
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the Flats is pretty much dead now.
Health code violations and underage drinking killed most of the bars. Now there is a couple old bars like Jimmy's and three strip clubs and 1 concert club. Not sure about Bugs. Haven't heard it mentioned in a while.
Hey tour, Hope you dont mind riding with a jap bike. I got a 97 Valkyrie bagger.
Thanks Twisted, I'd heard of the Flats and we're trying to decide what would be a good weekend for us to ride up that way. Will let you know when we do. We'll have to meet up and you can give us the tour of cleveland. We don't have an HD either and we're not picky.
I test rode an 02 murauder. Do the chains still make a lot of noise? I've been looking at selling my 81 Seca 750 and getting a Vstar for my fun bike and keeping the Valkyrie for the nights out. I like the shaft drive a little better than the chains.
I know this is way late, but I'm up around Newark way and there are a couple of good places to hang out there. Lots of bikes.
1. Papa Boos-buckeye lake
2. captain woody's-buckeye lake
3. Boozes in Newark
4. Jacksontown pub
first two usually have good bands and like minded people. Other two are good food and atmosphere. Biker friendly!
Hey Twisted - Where exactly in Cleveland are you at? I live in Broadview Heights. I have a Vstar 1100 Classic. I mention that because you state that you are thinking about getting one. If you would like to ride it (in case you haven't already), I'd be more than happy to try and meet up with you sometime and let you take it for a spin.
