Any ideas on a cool yellow?

Have a customer who wants his 2007 Harley painted yellow with some sort of effect, candy, pearl, metallic? He's not sure exactly what he wants, just something "outstanding". I been experimenting but run out of ideas, candy yellow over silver/gold bases turns gold or green and over white metallic looks quite boring and "dead". He insists on a bright yellow, any ideas for something cool I can do for this guy? I normally use PPG or Dupont but am open for suggestions.

never tried this but how bowt bright white wafted over lightly with over thined fine high sparkle metalic and then x coats of pegan gold base.or you could save the metalics untill just befor thr last shot of pegan gold so the sparkle wont get killed off to bad .pegan gold is an hok product and is actualy a bright yellow kandy.

Actually, I tried Hot Hues Lemon yellow and their base coat options are typical silver and gold which turn it gold or greenish. So, I tried the Hot hues yellow over Auto air white metallic and it stayed true yellow but not much else. As well, waiting for that water based Auto Air to dry is like, well, watching paint dry. Painful! I did however mix the Hot Hues lemon yellow candy with a silver metallic basecoat and it turned out unbelievable!! The customer doesn't like it but I'm definately painting my next chopper with it. Wow! Lots of depth and highlights. Looked up pictures of hotrods of that Pagan gold and it is a spectacular color, gonna look into that. Yellow just doesn't do anything for me, it's hard to get excited about it. Maybe that earlier suggestion with straight yellow with some pearl is the answer as well. Thanks for the suggestions guys, in the meantime, still looking!

yellow is cool but its hard to get a true yellow i find that useing a white sealer first it covers better for the yellow /pearl test panel first

Yellow Flamboyance

Ok guys, Thanks for all you suggestions! This is what I ended up using for yellow on this Harley.....

3 coats of base white
3 coats of PPG bright yellow
3 coats of PPG Flamboyance yellow
3 coats of PPG Clear

The Flamboyance is quite brilliant and gives the impression of crushed diamonds. I suggest for anyone trying Flamboyance is to lay it down with medium coats so it flattens out but at the same time keep your gun moving and a little further away than normal. It actually applied quite nicely. Almost looks a little like old school fine metalflake with pearl. It will be topped off with some flames in a couple of days....I'll post a photo.

PPG Flamboyance yellow pix

Well, heres the end result of a finished PPG "Flamboyance" paint job....I know, I know......it's still yellow but whatever the customer wants, the customer gets! Actually, in the sun, the glittering diamonds effect this Flamboyance creates is quite spectacular.

Thanks for the pics and for the colors you used. I am in need of just that exact color combination and have been fighting the same issues you did. I am going to show your pic to my customer and I am betting he will fall head over heals for it.

Yellow paint

Sorry for the late reply......having internet probs......yeah, that yellow paint looks awesome and even made me a believer in the color yellow. The base paint is PPG Deltron 84230 Yellow over a light grey primer for consistancy, covered with three coats of PPG Flamboyance 24234 "flake". Looks a little like diamonds floating in clear. Cover with tons of clearcoat to cover to flake and wetsand and polish. If you want more pics with the tins on the bike, i have lots. Give me a couple of days to get back online on my own p.c......
