anyone ever used HOK kosmic pearls?

just wondering if anyone has used kosmic pearls? on the HOK website, while looking at the speedshapes, it appears that the kosmic pearls result in a complete color change....i cant tell if these are the color it comes out when sprayed, or these are like traditional pearls that can be added midcoat or in the topcoat.... any ideas?

The Kosmic Pearl doesn't appear to change, its the Kameleon are the color change paints from HOK.

I do not want to candy red the entire bike as the wheels are already red. thanks in advance. The only way I can think of is using some sort of crystals. Like you said the pearls get over powered by the metallics.

HOK has a lot of different pearl types. Most of the kosmic pearl speedshapes on their website are the pearl powder sprayed over black or white in a midcoat then cleared.

I've started using these guys for pearls and liquid paint as well. They have a great selection that really pops and the tech guy is a painter and chemist and has always been real helpful.

Pearl Powder

On your silver/red project most pearls are fairly transparent and you are still going to see a strong silver component that will tend to cause the red pearl over it to be a lighter red or violet. If you wanted a kandy red sparkle over the silver I would use the red fire flake. It will give a strong red pop in the sun that over powers the silver base.

Snow pearls from Metakolors. Prep first with base coat(any color). Then apply this pearl. Then apply top coat. That's all! :speedy:
