I was wondering if anyone here has used simple green for cleaning tins before painting? From what I gather you can use a scotchbrite pad & simple green to clean the prepared surface then just rinse and dry once dry your ready to shoot. Interested in hearing from anyone that has used this method or just your thoughts on it. Thanks! by the way I'm new here and have really enjoyed reading all the different threads trying to learn and this seems to be a great place to start.

i would use a good degreaser that is ment for inital prep that you get from an auto body store. i have used windex in between graphix, but i knew that it was mild grease on on the surface, and not grime and things you can't see like wax and tar and .....

as hoss stated a good wax and grease remover Dx 330 is a good one. It's one of the more mild ones out there. I also use a surgical soap for the inital cleaning. It has no oils, perfumes or additives into that will effect your paint. I use this soap when doing the chrome paint thing.
