Anything magic about plastic MC fenders?

Lady brought in the front fender from her 750 Shadow for paint. I picked it up and about tossed it to the ceiling. It's plastic! Figured it would be metal.

Anyway, I plan on simply scuffing up the surface, spraying a quick flame, then clearcoat.
Anything special I need to do, or just treat it as it were simply a clearcoated metal fender?

Thanks

You will more than likley need to put an adhesion promoter on befor you paint it. I am not sure of brand names but I belive HOK has it. You can find it on there web site.

PPG has 2 good products for plastic.DX103 is an alcohol based cleaner that doubles as an antistatic when misted over the part before and after tacking it and 801 is their plastic primer. It looks red in the can but goes on clear if you just put a medium wet coat on.Great stuff.
