has anyone tried using createx auto air over bare plastic? can this be done? could you just sand the plastic and shoot their base coat sealer, or would it be safer to use a plastic primer? just a thought, i have a small plastic area and i'm just seeing if i eliminate unnecessary steps. thanks,

You can, i've done it without probs, , mostly on plastic motorbike fairings i usually sand with 600 wet n dry. Tghen i apply Glasurit 934 transparent 1k plastic primer. A couple of coats through the airbrush is pretty sufficient on smaller plastics then paint my artwork. In this case it was necessary cos i was spraying artwork on carbonfibre looking bases and the customer wanted the carbon fibre kept in the background of the artwork.
On other plastics i used to use HOK epoxy primers. Then spray my base colours and artwork before clearing. These primers were good because they werent catalised so you dont need an air fed respirator.
