Basic Questions

I'm a newbie to the painting scene but I have tried to acquire as much info as possible before I turn loose. I'm painting the tanks and fendors of my H-D and have a few questions. I've decided to use the Duplicolor Mirage paint for the base coat. Laugh if you want but I done some test panels and they look great. A lot cheaper than Kameleon Kolors from House of Kolor. I've choosen the Magenta/Gold combination and would like to put some ghost flames on the tank. Any idea how I can accomplish the ghost flame look on the color changing paint? I'm also using a raised H-D bar & shield emblem on the tank. Is it possible to clear coat over the emblem to help blend in the edges? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ghost flame on Mirage paint- I would use a white pearl metallic paint,,and dust the inner flame edges really light,,,just barely enough to see and it will be transparent over the mirage paint,,,

get your base color tinted with some silver metalic (a small amount only), spray a light coat, demask when dry, clear over the lot, cut and polish. Some tinted color base in a lot of clear will also work. remember one light coat and then seal it with clear.
