best paint for first time? Newbie with a few questions

Man, I have lots of questions but I’ll start slow. I want to spray an engine cover, a fuse box cover (both plastic – one with a sort of shiny coat on some of it already stock from the factory - 2012 SS Camaro). Maybe the metal radiator support too. I’d like to do it with the car color (SIM –silver ice metallic) and contrast it with some black (engine cover). I have a Fuji Q4 turbine sprayer with G-XPC gun and 1.4 tip I ordered the 3M PPS system with mini cup to help use less materials and clean up easier. From what I gather so far in reading “waterbase” (PPG) still requires some solvent based stuff regarding sealer/primer and clear coat - unless I am miss understanding.
I’ll be doing it in my garage (about 22x 28). It has a gas heater so I know I need serious ventilation no matter what paint I use. I’ll be in the front with plastic sheets seperating the back of the garage where the heater is. There are two windows up front with me for cross ventilation and a door and window back by the heater so I will have plenty of fresh air back there. As a last resort I can just spray it outside. Oh, and I live in Alaska so this will need to be done pretty soon. With all the windows open it’ll be in the 60’s maybe low 70's if it's amazing out.

So now the questions:
· What paint do you recommend for a beginner that will still look nice and custom? People have recommended PPG. I have also seen Dupoint’s Centari mentioned for ease of use.
(there is a NAPA auto paint store nearby so I figure I’ll be using them to procure the paint).

· I need an adhesion promoter for the plastic, correct? Someone told me I could use a rattle can for that – true or false? Then the base (color) then the clear?
· These pieces in total are pretty small – how much paint should I expect to use?
· I may practice on a plastic mailbox first – I guess I should use whatever system I plan to use for the project? That’ll end up one styling shiny mailbox!
Being that this is new to me I am open to all suggestions, links, and any other info you feel might be helpful. I would prefer to be as waterbased and non-toxic as possible (will have a 3m respirator with filters, goggles, gloves, and probably a cheap paint suit too). I had only planned on the resp and goggles but the more I read the more the rest seems prudent.
Thanks in advance for your input! I’m excited to do this.
