Hey,welcome Steve.I've missed alot this week because a painter quit and I've been moving from the bodyshop to the paint side, man I have too much stuff.
There is an easy way to do it,give it to someone else to do
Basically they suck no matter what.I like to hang stuff like this so the top is eye level and I have to stand on a pail to see the top,it makes doing the lower end easier and spraying down the backbone blind isn't a big deal-and most or all of it's hidden on all but Customs.I just cut my fan down to about 3" and cut way back on the fluid. If you're playing with 3stage pearls and candys you might want to do a test panel first to make sure of the amount of coats give the same effect of the sheetmetal,or viceversa. If you haven't painted tubing before just start out easy and watch the joints for excessive buildup.Better to put it on a touch thin and need to layer up a wet coat than blast it on and get drips.Shaunboy's way of painting the same side of everything works very good and helps eliminate buildup in the joints, but sometimes I just do a tube at a time.Actually here's a tip which I'm sure you know if you've painted before. When you get in those tight joints like the back of the neck just feather the trigger and build it up slowly like I said before and if you're using a toploader use the cup baggies, you can spray upside down much longer without the gun spitting or dripping out the vent on you.
