I don't really have one because I see some nice stuff from most of them. For looks in the long and low drag look I'd have to say nothing has grabbed me like an Amen scooter.I believe if you want a hotrod you have to build it,there are some reliability nightmares with some of these mass made bikes like Ultra,Iron Horse, etc (an example,I won't name them). Then again one of the big boys has a problem too if you use the power it's built with.

Mike Maldonado - He builds the frame, front end, fuel and oil tanks and almost everything else including brake systems. You never see any of the wires, cables, or brake lines. He hides them quite well. He came out with the singlesided swingarm chopper long before anyone else. He also does the paint. Sometimes with killer flames.

Don't really have a favorite. If I were to build a custom I'd probably steal a little from a bunch of guys.

Put a gun to my head and I'd have to say Yaffe.

I think if you're an old hard core guy you have to go w/ indian larry or billy lane. But if you are into the new age customs, bourget or yaffe are the up and comers.

I like the look of the Exile cycle machines but there are also a load of European bike builders producing excellent bikes with top notch quality. Especially if you like either the drag style or classic chop look.

Ya know Gordy,I forgot about them.I haven't seen anything new or innovative with them but they keep it pretty simple and lose the shine like a basketcase waiting for paint and polish,I like the look.

Personally I think its how bikes should look, they are pure and simple, plenty of attitude and understated style. But as with most of these custom machines I think the prices have got a bit crazy. Even buying items at trade prices has become impossibly expensive with some manufacturers, infact its forced us into making more of our own parts that people can actually afford.

I'm surprised noone mentioned Paul Yaffe. I though his bikes were sweet. I love the streamline look from the front to the back of the bike. Billy Lane was really cool too and I have to mention Orange County Choppers. I had a chance to see many of their bikes in New Orleans including the ceremony they had for the Fireman Bike. I still think the Black Widow was my favorite. Oh well, that's just my opinion.

I can't believe I haven't heard Matt Hotch's name come up yet from Hot Match,he builds some neat stuff.Switches hidden in the seat cusion is nice,I don't know if it was his idea though.Anyone here met Yaffe?I heard the guy's ego is way out of control.
