black marblizing questions/thoughts

Hello everyone!
So I am getting prepared for my yearly paint job this winter up here in good old new england.

Been looking at some real nice marble jobs and I am curious. Any reason why we can't put something other than black as the base....ie, for example and not that I would do this....but why not like a bright yellow base, then black over that for the marble layer....lay the plastic wrap and remove!!!

thoughts? I'm thinking I'll be trying this on a few practice panels to see what it looks like and post up. Just figured I'd check to see if anyone has gone this route before me....light under....dark over...

thanks/g

You can put any color base you want, it will just change the look. Just try a test piece first to see how it looks. So far i have only been using the silver white Marblizer from Kouse Of Kolor, i have put it over different base colors and used SG100 tinted with different Kandy Koncentrates for HOK.

the marbleizer usually has been a light color, so dark base colors pop the best.

I think it just takes longer to flash off so you have time to get the effect. HOK do a neutral Marblizer which you can add dry pearls or flakes to to create different Marblizer.

I used the same random grey on this bike as the background, used some orion silver on top and textured that. Then sprayed the Kandy. Really, really, really subtle. Can hardly see in the pics, but its there

great stuff guys!, thanks a lot!
Maybe for my next project. This year I ended up doing a simple blacks base with some brilliant silver old school airbrushed flames, and candy apple red. itching to get this thing back together to see how it looks. but have other parts yet to spray!
