Black paint seems to crawl around

As a very general answer stuff is moving around. Our sun will cook some stuff but I'd have to see it.Blocking and buffing after the cure helps with the reflow but it isn't a fun job at all.

My truck paint seems to change with the Florida sun cooking it . The base coat clear coat I've been using is polybase and big sky clear. The clear has been wet sanded and buffed to a show car finish but after time it seems to become wavy. Could this be from too much clear coat?

Thanks I will have to block out and rebuff and see if it continues to change. I just wonder if I could do something differant in the future ot prevent this from happening.
I shot the base coat one day then taped off and airbrushed the flames and cleared 3 coats the next day. They were heavy coats w/ not much time in between maybe 15 min.

Stan, by the sounds of your last post it dosent sound like you let the clear flash long enough in between coats and some of the solvants may still be escaping thats why the clear is still moving.

What is a general rule of thumb for time between coats? here in Fl. Its usually hot
in the paint booth.

Whatever the manufacturer states roughly.I run slower on my reducer than the stated temp range in PPG.If it's 90 deg and humid I mix it for 100 deg roughly,it has a few advantages.EZ's right,it sounds like you pounded it on.This damn sun will play with you though,I've waited to block and buff and down the road a few months it does change but I'm using uncatalized basecoat. If you already sanded it real good and buffed it go easy this time, you're getting close to the point where you're thinning you clear too much unless you did 3 coats for a 2 coat clear.
