Not for sure what you were trying to achieve. Black basecoat would have been better. Possibly you didn't have any?
I've never used a KO sealer (just KS), but if you don't use the hardener of course it's going to stay soft. When you clear over it, the clear will be hard, but the sealer won't. The only problem I would see is that possibly it might chip easily. Other than that, if it didn't 'wrinkle' on you, you should be all right.
