brushed aluminum finish?

hi

does any one know how you can creat a brushed aluminum finish? i have a 12x36 sheet of aluminum and i want to use it in the interior of my pickup. all the aluminum in my pickup is all brushed and i want it to match

set a d.a. sander to spin instead of on orbital use a fairly course paper and place it up and down with no side to side motions and you may find this'll work. tho' as in painting metal try a test panel first

KEEP IN MIND THIS IS ONLY ONE OF MANY WAYS TO GO ABOUT DOING THE BRUSHED LOOK TRY DIFFERENT WAYS WITH THE SAME BASIC IDEA. SUCH AS DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF THE METAL YOU WANT TO WORK ON YOU COULD USE A DRILL PRESS, DRILL A HOLE INTO A PIECE OF ROUND WOOD (PLYWOOD) JUS' MAKE SURE YOU COUNTER SINK THE SCREW OR BOLT GET IT IN THE CHUCK PLACE A PIECE OS MAYBE 80 GRIT D/A PAPER TO IT AND IT'LL GIVE A PRETTY GOOD FINISH. I KNOW SOME OF YOU WILL READ THIS A THINK IT'S REDICULOUS BUT I'D SEEN IT DONE BY AN OLDTIMER YEARS AGO AND I WAS SUPRISED WITH WHAT CAME OUT. TRY IT YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED TOO
