Buffing and polishing

I am trying to get ahead of the game and get all my supplies before I start. I read the flame how to and got to the end and the list of supplies to finish the job. I went searching for the rubbing compunds, and glazes and the pads to put this finishing touches on. There are way to many items to pick from. Can anyone, who has done this, give me a list (Part numbers) of the proper pads and polishes and stuff to finish my job. Big thanks for the help. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbutt.gif

Good questions...when I did the How-To, that was about 6 years ago, so not only have I hcanged, but also the 3M part numbers and products have changes. Including a change as of about 2 weeks ago.

Here is what *I* currently use...

3M pads-- (black and white foam waffle pads). Which by the way, 3M has a patent on the waffle part of the pad.

part numbers...5723 and 5725

Compounds--
black foam pad polish-5966 (number might be off)
compound--6060 (now replaces 5936)

I use a Dewalt variable buffer.

Hope this helps!
