I have a milwaukee buffer and I use a speed of about 2.5-3 on my dial which is (I think) about 2000-2500 rpm's with the waffle pad using 3-m perfect it rubbing compound. I then clean my area with 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water. (don't use beer, even for a joke) I then switch to the black waffle pad and dial down to about 1500 rpm's 1.5-2 on the dial with the 3m machine glaze, reclean again and your done. I will sometimes use maguires show polish for the extra touch.
