Buffing Thru Clearcoat

I just painted a cover for my tach on the motorcycle. Everything was going well until this morning when I buffed it. I buffed thru the clear on an edge down to the base coat. I've painted and buffed parts several times in the last couple of years and have been lucky enough not to have done this. Can I just wet sand the whole piece with 600 and reclear? I have a feeling it is not so simple. I did a search but didn't find any info although I know it's probably been discussed many times already.
Thanks guys!

Actually it looks like I went thru the clearcoat and the HOK Brandywine KBC down to the black base. Can I sand the clear then airbrush a little KBC to cover the black then re-clear?

Thats what I would do BUT I would wait about a good week to do so. Ive touched up my base a couple days after clear and it wrinkles on me. You have to wait until the base is really dry, then it will work.
