Welcome Scooter. All I can say is ask the paint store what the P Bulletin says.If it's a true single stage you probably can't buff it unless there's alot of clear in the mix so all the pigment settles and you'll still have to be delicate with the process. Is it really single stage?I haven't used Squirley Williams in years so I'm not familiar with their line now.

Never used the Sherwin Williams single stage before, but I would geuss it to be similar to other single stage urethanes. You might try to ask the dealer for an info sheet, the curing time should be on there. Single stage gets pretty hard, so I would try to cut and buff as soon as they recommend. Waiting too long will take some extra work. The last single stage I used was Dupont Chroma. I waited a week before buffing and that was pretty much too late, it buffed o.k., but took a lot of extra time. I had to use a pretty aggressive compound (Meguires Diamond Cut, which is one of their more aggressive). I generally cut with 1500 wet, then 2000 wet and then use 3M Perfect-It III with a medium foam pad and then follow with 3M glazing with a soft waffle pad. This has given me very smooth glass like sheen! I can cut and buff a motorcycle tank in about 20-30 minutes this way. You really should try to get the shortest cure time from Sherwin Williams, this will be the best info.
