candy colors in rattle cans

Hello all,
First post here. I have learned much by lurking around and now have a question. I am going to be finishing my next guitar build and want to use some candy or Kandy...spelling?....colors. Where can I get these in rattle cans? I know Alsa sells them but was wanting to know if others do as well.

thanks

Kandie Rattle Can

You can get them at the Auto supply store. I know HOK has then in the stores. Failing that you might want to try the better hobby stores. We use to buy them to paint our plastic model cars, when we were kids. They were by Pactra. Think I just dated myself.

I looked at O'Riley's yesterday and they did not have any. I will look at others to see what they carry.

Thanks for the info.

go back to o'reilies and get their metalcast paint by duplicolor. i suggest busting the can open and using a paint gun to shoot it, as it can spit a little outta the can, and drips in candi sux.

they have red, green, purple, blue, orange and grey kandi, but don't get the grey it isn't a see through kandi.

these kandies can be applied to basecoat and can be cleared over. they are great for cheap practice, but i suggest getting some sg100 and kandi koncentrates from House O kolor for anything other than practice. the kan kandies will hold up under a good clear, but i'm sure the HOK stuff will hold up better.

Matthew,
Welcome to the CPF.

Looks like if you go the Alsa way, you'll end up spending close to $100 if not more just on the spray cans. You'll have the metallic color, the candy color, and the clear. You should really use a sealer under the metallic color, but if you don't you'll have to make sure that you don't have any sand-throughs on the primer so the metallic will cover evenly.

:luck:

Sorry for late response, but just joined the forum.
If you haven't done the paint job yet. you might try looking at www.stewmac.com Stewart Mcdonald guitar parts and supplies. they have the type of paints and clear coats you want for a guitar.
