I agree with Austin. The best and easiest way I have found is to use the mesh dry wall tape (not the paper tape). It have a low tack adhesive on one side. Before applying the tape, paint the hood with a mixture of black metallic, rootbeer kandy and tangerine candy. Then apply the tape, and spray black over it (the fibers of the tape will revieal the carbon fiber color you sprayed as a base when you take the tape off). Craig Fraser's book Automotive Cheap Tricks and Special Effects has a nice step by step in it using this trick, and more detailed than I just was. He lists the colors needed for it, as I am sure I forgot something above
