Checkerboard in matching custom paint section

How were those checkers done on that job? Are they simply pearl in the clear? They look great and I would love to try them on my next set of tanks.

Check out Scott's reply in the General Discussion forum under Outstanding Fix by EZ,I'm not sure how to link you to it directly.The pearl was mixed with basecoat clear (so the pearl is a basecoat),not the topcoat clear.
