Chin Spoiler Touchup

I want to recoat my Corbin chin spoiler. It has little chip spots on it which I will use my touchup pen to cover. I was thinking about using a 2000 wet/dry sand paper with water and sand the whole spoiler then wipe it down with glass cleaner then wax/grease remover before spraying it with clear. Does this sound like the right proceduces to use? Thanks, kinda new at this stuff.

Tegger,600 or 800 grit will give more tooth for your clear to stick to,then if your gonna buff after clear,2000 grit it first to remove the peel and any dust.Jim

No,I mean, clean your part, touch up your chips with the paint pen,let the paint dry real good, then 600 grit the whole part to level your touch ups and give the clear something to hold on to,spray your clear, then after 24hrs, 2000 grit the clear and buff.If your clear is good enough after you spray, you don't have to sand and buff it,just leave it.Got it?
