What is the best way to touch up a 'chip' spot on a fender? I have a pencil color and pencil clear from colorite to do this. Do I have to keep builting up the spot then sand it, then clear it? Thanks for your help! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/foreheadslap.gif

Go ahead and get the same color touch up paint, then spot this in, then build it up with the clear. once ou get the spot above the original surface, block sand it with either 1500 or 2000, then buff and polish it. If you have a metallic type color, this won't turn out that great. But if you have a solid color, this should work fine for you.

OK, I DID THIS WITH MY PENCIL TUBES. I WILL HAVE TO SAND IT
DOWN WITH 2000 GRIT WET/DRY LOTS OF WATER. IT IS A METALIC MIX COLOR SO I NO I WILL NOT GET A PERFECT MATCH. I MAY TAKE THE WHOLE FENDER OFF AND RECLEAR THE WHOLE FENDER.

Tegger,
If you are going to remove the fender, you might as well spray the spot, then reclear the fender. This will make it even nicer.
