Chromillusion Flames

I have a dark mettalic green S-10. I'm thinking about some flames, and saw a gold/green chromillusion product at a local paint shop. I'd kind of like the flames to be almost invisible, with some subtle shifts when the sun hits them.

I was wondering if this product could be reduced or diluted with clear and still show up more subtley than the straight stuff. Also, would it work over the factory paint (it's new), or would I still need the black base coat?

You can over reduce the chromalusion, but it may affect the color a little. When I over reduced the same color it looked more of a lighter green than the dark green. It still had the flop and actually worked out well 'cause it was like a different color than the book. If you spray it over the dark green it will work but may show more of the green color than the gold.
But it's something to experiment with.
Lots of luck,
