i added 1/3 of a half pint of hardener to to a paint cup of mixed paint after a week the paint is drie to the tuch after i buffed it if you put pressure on it it leaves a mark like paint is not drie any tips or suggestions

your message seems vauge about the type of paint you added hardener to.
when adding hardener to paints you need to be pretty much spot on with the manufacturers guide on how to do it.
Unlike Bondo or other Body fillers where you can viary the amount of hardener you use depending on the speed you want it to dry........
With paint you always have to follow the directions of a 2pack system for the amount of hardener to be used...........
The drying speed is from the type of hardener and not the amount..........

I know this differs a bit from your question but its a factor that need to be looked at
