classic look?

I'm getting ready to paint some flames, and I was going for the classic yellow/orange/red flame, but when it comes down to actually laying the colors I'm apprehensive, b/c I'm not sure if the red should be at the base and yellow at the tips or vise versa. Could you guys give me a quick census?

thank you in advance...

Usually the colors go from lighter to darker.

Spray the flames yellow (go light on the tips since they will be red anyway), then highlight the edges around the complete flames orange, then dust some red on all the tips.

NOTE: Be sure and spray a white base first, because yellow is one of the most transparent colors you can spray.
