i was wondering what most folks do to clean the area where the flames are going to be sprayed...before i lay out the flame i wash my hands numerous times to help prevent any contamination on the tank and fenders., but was wondering if there is anything that can be done when its ready to spray..thanks..pa /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

I'll wipe it down with a fast evaporating G&W remover and again after untaping in only the untaped areas.Wearing gloves is a good way to avoid having to do it but they drive me nuts wearing them. They're a good thing to wear though,I litterally have to wash my hands with Cuprin or equivolent paint removing soap and a grey scotchbrite to get the stains out of my hands from paint and reducer melting in the paint. Not good for your health either.

Get some of the "blue sontara" tack cloths. They are cheap, lint free and don't leave a residue. You can also dampen them with pre-cleaner if you need to. TC

409 glass cleaner does a good job for me and I like to use an airhose to blow around the blue fine line tape to make sure no particals are trapped up against the tape

I've never had a problem just spraying the base, letting it sit up for 30-60 minutes, washing my hands, then going to work doing the tapeouts. I just lightly tack it off before I spray the flames, and it has always worked well for me that way....
