Clear coat clouding/milky

i've seen it happen when the clear is applied too thick, or maybe it's the clear you are using, or maybe a reaction between the base and clear?? be more specific on what was applied and how it was applied. what gun you use and the size of tip. if the clear is all milky or just in spots?

I had sprayed four other panels the day before this panel with no problems or reactions. The day I spray the problem panel with clear we had a cold/damp spell of weather. I think this may of been the problem. The whole panel of clear went milky/cloudy. The temp outside was about 10C degrees and I had no heat in the garage. (I'm still learning)

AHH, I wonder if the cloudyness is just the top layer? i wonder if it could be sanded and buffed out??

try block sanding carefully with 800 grit wet and see if the water takes the cloudyness away? if so, you might be able to sand down the clear and reaclear to get ride of the cloudyness.

after it's sanded the water should show you if it will work.

good luck

Yea, I agree, probably due to the moisture. Try wetsanding and buffing and see if you can buff it out.If it does not buff out, then you should be all right to just reclear. Good luck to you !
