I will be using the Sharpe T1-CG Titanium gravity feed gun for the clear coat, and was wondering the pros and cons on using Transtar's
6841 - 4.2 Low V.O.C. Kwik Gloss Acrylic Urethane Clear.

Kyle, i have been using it for about 4 months now at work and on some of my own work now, and its been pretty good to me, i havent had it screw up in any way at all and its very user friendly. it is a medium solids clear so you must put 3 coats on and it buffs excellent, probibly the best i have seen in a while sence PPG did away with the Concept 2001 clear. i met with the transtar local rep and they stand behind their stuff, yes i have it in writting, i believe 5 years and life time with certian base coat systems. here is the deal if i order it from a supply house in Rhode Island they sell it to me for $70 a gallon set up, if i buy it in 2's at a time

i am still sticking with HOK UC-35 ( high solids ) for leveling out graphics, becous it can be hosed on pretty heavily with out any reprecutions, i dont know what will hapen to the transtar high solids if i hose on 5 coats, the rep said it would be alright but i have a lot of faith in House of Kolors so i stick with it. i hope this helps any more questions give me a hollar.

Transtar is great in reference to big bang for the buck. Agree that it's easy to buff too. It has a very high gloss. I usually use the dupont premier clear, great stuff with exceptional high gloss and durability, and I've used all house of color clears. The best of Dupont is by far,(in my humble opionion) better overall.
Transtar is a great clear for the price, and it is easy to work with.
Just an opinion.

Thanks for replying to my post and both of you gave me some great tips, and if I decide to go with transtar I might have to get a hold of you ezrider if thats al right.

I am going to be painting my 85 T-type (Grand National) black with possibly dark green metalic ghost flame?
