Just recently i was lucky enough to get Troy Bayliss 3 Time world superbike champ to sign my bike fuel tank. problem is the tank was not prepared before hand and i would like to clear coat over it, to protect it. Does anybody know of a product that will clear over it without me having to rub the tank down in and around the autograph. THANKS:think1:

Welcome to the Custom Paint Forum!

I've have had this same problem before with people getting pinstripes, autographs, airbrushing....

Basically I would just sand as close as possible to the work. Then clearcoat the complete part.
Never had any issues.

Sure, that 'might' help. Don't think it will help too much if the paint job is an older paint job. if it's a fairly newer paint job, it might bite into it. Then your clear will adhere to the adhesion promoter.
