The job would be all glossy. I think the best way to achieve this would be to do the following:
-get your black done with the matte finish,
-then layout your flames
-add another 1/8" inch fine line tape inside this
-spray your flames
-spray one coat of clear,
-then remove your extra 1/8" line
-add one more coat.
-Remove all tape immediately that outlines the flames so the clear "rolls" and does not dry to a hard edge.
This will keep the flames, you gloss, it also edge to a minimum, and you will also have your black matte finish.
This special trick is also used with van conversion places.
<font color=red>[/b]CFP Note:[/b]</font> Just want to mention to all the CFP readers, that all jobs done by Custom Flame Painting are completely clearcoated and not done like the above. This user just wanted a way to keep the black a matte finish, but still have glossy flames.
