Hey Jt,
I've got a dodge dakota myself, only mine is black. I've seen a few flame jobs on the dakota's myself, but no ghost flames. I'll see if I can't dig a few pics up for ya off the dakota club I'm in (was in).
As far as color goes, I'm definately a cool color person. Example, blues, greens, gray... I'm not a big fan of the bright colors like red and yellow. So as far as color choices, me myself would choose a blue, but then again blue is my favorite color! lol. But since you've got a silver truck, I'd say any of these colors should work good in my opinion. Black, blue, purple... If you going to add a pin stripe around the flame, I'd go with a complementary color for example, if you do a blue flame, use a yellow or orange pin strip around it. If you do a black flame, I'd pick a blue pin stripe. I'd think more than likely tho a pin stripe on a ghost flame would take away from the flame itself and make it not look right, but that's really hard telling! I don't think I've ever seen a ghost flame with a pin stripe!
Here is a few pics from the dakota club guys that had flames.

The one guy has a silver truck with dark gray flames, and a light blue pin stripe. He used some BMW color for the flames, looks ok but it wouldn't be my first choice 8)
Hope these help! Anymore questions feel free to ask! I'm just curious, which colors can you not see correctly? I though color blind people just couldn't see red's and yellow's correctly? Sorry if I'm sounding dumb
