Color Layers

This is a simple (I hope) question. I'm painting plastic fairings (Ninja) and had the paint color matched at my local auto shop.

When wet sanding the original finish off, I noticed that I have (from top to bottom) red mixed w/gold pearl, silver, red mix, silver layers then the original plastic.

My question is: after I shoot primer (and re-sand), I'll shoot the silver.....do I have to intercoat it first before shooting the red/gold? Actually, I guess the real question is do I intercoat each layer or just shoot the silver, let it flash, shoot the red, flash, silver, red and then clear?

Thanking you in advance for any help you can offer!!

By the sounds of it it's been repainted to have the red and silver twice. The intercoat is to protect the color for taping on so you won't need it,unless of course you're taping out grafix on it.Get some plastic primer before priming it or it will probably come apart on you.
